ENROLLMENT OF GPC IN 7 C40 CITIES OF LATIN AMERICA

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In 2016, Servicios Ambientales S.A. (SASA) won an international call launched by the Group of Cities with Climate Leadership (C40), a global network of mega-cities, committed to finding solutions to climate change, to deploy the Global Protocol for emission inventories of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) scale communities (GPC) in seven cities in Latin America: Lima, Quito, Caracas, Santiago, Salvador de Bahía, Sao Paulo y Curitiba.

The goal is to support cities in developing / updating their carbon stocks based on the GPC methodology, in order to meet the requirements of the Covenant of Mayors in mitigation issues, with a strong focus on issues of local capacity building in authorities and major players in the cities, so that it can ensure the sustainability of the process of measuring and monitoring emissions.
