CITIES FOOTPRINT PROJECT

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main objective of the project "Cities Footprint", is to support local governments and decision makers in the development and implementation of municipal strategies to mitigate and adapt to climate change, through the measurement and reduction of the Carbon Footprint and Water Footprint of their cities (and territories), and their own institutions, enabling the identification, prioritization and development of actions that contribute to adaptation to climate change and contribute to its mitigation.

This project arose from the high vulnerability of cities on the effects of climate change and demand for short-term actions that can adapt to such impacts and increase its resilience, in addition to the need to direct its growth under sustainability and low carbon urban development.
